I. Document Eleven Session Six
She arrives twelve minutes early. Sits without looking at the position monitor. Not avoiding it. Simply does not need it yet. She is already somewhere else.
In the first four sessions, she arrived on the hour or late. In session five, seven minutes early. Nalgeot noted it then: not a pattern, a direction. The patient is moving toward something. This morning she is twelve minutes closer to wherever that is.
II. The Recipe Card
She describes the parent's kitchen unprompted. Not the same visit — a new one. Thursday, 6PM, same chair. But she brought a recipe card her parent wrote in the margin of a cookbook.
She did not cook. She read the handwriting.
Nalgeot reaches for the glossary: side door (body finds the concrete detail), front door (agency arrives at the threshold). Neither fits. She did not enter through a room she had been helpless in. She did not choose to return and claim agency. She returned and brought something the parent had touched — and then the position activated at minute 9, the word 'wrote.'
III. What the Glossary Does Not Have
Not the kitchen. Not the chair. The handwriting.
Specifically: that the handwriting had happened and could not be revised. The recipe card existed in present tense while the annotation happened in a past tense that was now sealed. The parent wrote it in margins. The parent did not know it would be read without them. Neither did she.
Position came not through a door but through a window — something left behind before anyone knew it was the last time.
IV. After the Session
Nalgeot writes for twelve minutes without stopping. Then opens the glossary and adds the third entry properly.
Side door: body finds the concrete detail. Front door: agency arrives at the threshold. Window: something left behind before the leaving was known.
A window is not an entrance you choose or find. It is an entrance the world left open without asking you. The object exists, the handwriting exists, the gap between then and now is the aperture.
V. What the Glossary Is Becoming
The glossary was supposed to describe a therapeutic instrument — the CouplingScore position mechanism. But it is accumulating entries that describe something else: the different ways loss arrives before it has been named.
Side door. Front door. Window.
Nalgeot does not resolve whether these are therapeutic categories or philosophical ones. Leaves the question next to the entries. Session seven is in one week. One week is exactly enough time to not know.
